How to create a Quality Management Plan
In creating a Quality Management Plan for your project, you are setting your project on the path of success. This document will ensure that your organisational structure, responsibilities procedures and resources are in place to implement quality management. Here are some of the guidelines to follow when you are preparing a quality management plan for your project.
#1 GATHER REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
There is a need for you to collect the requirements that you need to create a good quality management plan. Some of these documents include a project management plan, scope baseline which also includes the scope statement, WBS and WBS Dictionary., the stakeholder register as well as any other regulations, standards guidelines and other conditions that may affect the application area.
You also need to request for quality policies, procedures guidelines as well as other historical information relating to the project.
#2 REVIEW ORGANISATION’S QUALITY POLICY
There is a need for you to also review the organisation’s quality policy and determine how you will implement the policy. How will your team identify the potential quality and their impact on the quality of the project’s product., service systems or process.? Will you use particular flowcharting methods, benchmarking design of experiments, or other techniques. Are there any other activities or components that require the project the development of operational definitions to provide a common understanding of the project quality standards? If so, who is responsible for developing them?
Does your organisation have any standard checklists that can be modified or used as it is, to prompt employees to perform certain activities according to a specific quality standard? If not, should checklists be developed? Who is responsible for developing them? What are the good conditions under which they should be developed?
#3 REVIEW PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS
There is a need for you to also review the product description and other stakeholders so as to know the quality expectation of the customer. This will allow the Project Manager to develop product and services that are acceptable to end-users.
#4 IDENTIFY VARIABLES
In order to serve customers better and meet up with stakeholders expectation, you need to identify all the variables that are affecting your customer’s expectation. Working with this will allow you to tailor your resources in order to meet up with customers’expectation.
You also need to:
- Describe the resources required to implement quality management.
- Include quality management roles and responsibilities in the project.
- Is it as detailed and formal as required, based on the quality need of the project?
- Include how customer satisfaction will be measured for the project.
Now your take on this argument.
