Examining Cyberbullying on Social Networking Sites
Cyberbullying on social networking sites refers to the abuse of technology to harass or threaten internet users
Some due to one reason or another or due to the fact that they are invisible when they are on the internet. They will now be using that as a means of harassing, molesting and threatening other users on the internet.
The information posted on social networking sites such as pictures, video comments as well as updates can be used to spread the false rumour, threaten to reveal the information on the internet, harass/ blackmail the users, stalking the user among others.
According to research by the Pew Internet Project, 39 percent of social network users have been cyberbullied in some way, compared to 22 percent of online teens who do not use social networks.
