Examining Network Boundaries in Networking

 

When it comes to networking, `you network when you have to connect two or more devices together to share the same resources. At times, in organisations, we might need to connect devices to one central device where they can share resources together, This might include resources such as printers or file server. This help to save cost and guarantee efficient and effective utilization of resources.

In this article, I want to look at what network boundaries means in a networking environment. Follow me as we look at how network boundaries work in this type of environment. 

 

Network boundaries in networking are classified in different ways. A network in a single location is often described as a Local Area Network. This is a network that belongs to the same group and are connected together so that they can share common resources. 

 

Moreso, networks are of different sizes and shapes. It ranges from a simple network also known as Small Office Home Office (SOHO) or complex networks that covers large geographical areas. This is often known as a Wide Area Network.

 

Also, note that networks in different geographical location but with shared links are called Wide Area Network.

 

LAN and WAN also are only two of the terms used to describe networks of different scales and sizes.
