Understanding Network Component Terminologies in Networking
There are some terms that we use in computer networking that even experts could not explain what they mean. In this article, I want to look at some of the network components that we have in a networked environment. Follow me as we look at this together in this article.
#1 Node
A nose can be seen as any device that can communicate on the network via one or more network interfaces.
It can also be used to describe devices that are connected to endpoint devices. That can be devices that connect to a network through cables or wireless mode.
Some of these devices include IP Phones, smartphones, printer and other devices that can send or receive data through a network.
At times, when a nose is connected to a wireless network, they are always referred to as a station.
#2 Host
The term host refers to any device on a network that has or can make use of an IP address. This can also be devices that are connected to a port on a device such as a switch or routers. You should note that hosts always have an IP address that is not similar.
That means it is not possible for two hosts to share the same IP address on a network.
Now your take on this argument.
