3 Types of Media in Digital Marketing
When it comes to Digital Marketing in any organization, there are three types of media in Digital Marketing. This has to do with the different forms of ownership that can be available when it comes to ownership of Digital materials. I am going to talk about the different levels of ownership of Digital materials in this article.
#1 OWNED MEDIA
When it comes to owned media in Digital Marketing, they are media that you have control over. With owned media, you can actually control what is been posted and adjust the content to suit your own interest. In terms of SEO and ranking, your owned media do not carry much weight but the advantage is that you can actually control what the content of such media will be.
A good example includes your website, blog, social media platform and other contents that you might have shared with others.
#2 Paid Media
A Paid media platform is a platform where you are paying the site or content owner to post on their website. You do not really have control over what is been posted on this platform as your content can be removed without notice. Most at times too, for SEO purpose, Google do not actually reckon with paid media. You are not expected to buy links. You have to earn natural links to come too on the Search Engine Result Page.
#3 Earned Media
Earned Media are links and recommendations that you did not pay for or influence. It might come from satisfied customers or people that are enthusiastic.about your products and services. This might include re-sharing your articles or retweeting your posts. It might also include backlinks that your post has gathered. This has the tendency of boosting your visibility on search engines.
Some of the examples of Earned Media includes reviews, shares, likes, mentions, and others.
