Differences And Similarities Between Traditional And Digital Marketing
In my previous articles, I have tried to establish that the fact that you want to embark on digital marketing does not mean you should abandon traditional marketing. In order for your message to resonate with your target audience, you need to use the two together in order to achieve the desired result. In this article, I will try and look at the similarities and differences between traditional and digital marketing in any organization. Follow me as we look at that together in this article.
traditional marketing is media that are in use before the advent of the internet. This type of media does not rely on the internet in order to reach the target audience. I have also said in my previous article that this kind of media is passive in nature.
Here are some of the various forms of traditional marketing that are available to any organization wanting to reach his target audience.
#1 Direct Marketing
This has to do with the process of selling directly to the end-user without the use of middlemen. There are many organizations that are not making use of the internet. They prefer to reach out to their customers directly. What such an organization is using is what we can refer to as Direct Marketing.
#2 Print
Another means of traditional marketing that can be adopted in traditional marketing has to do with the use of print media. This can be in the form of a flyer or banner that is shared with as many people as possible. Most at times, they do not really focus on any specific target audience, hoping that someone will be interested in the product or services.
#3 Broadcast
When you are using this type of model, you are liaising with television and radio in order to spread your message across to the target audience. Most of the TV and radio stations make their money from this platform. You have to make sure that when you are using this type of platform, you choose the kind of programs that your target audience is really interested in.
#4 Referrals
This is a means of reaching out to new customers through existing customers. At times, this happens spontaneously because your customers are satisfied with your products and services. You can also monetize this by encouraging existing customers to introduce new customers and get a discount.
