4 Trends And Emerging Practices In Project Quality Management

In my previous article, I have talked about some of the concepts that you need to know when it comes to project quality management. In this article, I want to look at some of the emerging practices in Project Quality Management. Follow me as we are going to look at that together in this article.

emerging practices in project quality management

Modern quality management approaches seek to minimize variation and to deliver results that meet defined stakeholder requirements. Emerging practices in project quality management include:

#1 Customer satisfaction

Understand, evaluate, define, and manage requirements so that customers expectations are met. This requires a combination of conformance to requirements and fitness for use.

In agile environments, stakeholder engagement with the team ensures customer satisfaction is maintained throughout the projects.

#2 Customer improvement

The Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle is the basis for quality improvement as defined by Shewhart and modified by Deming. In addition, quality improvement initiatives such as total quality management (TQM), Six Sigma, and Lean Six Sigma may improve both the quality of project management, as well as the quality of the end product, service, or result.

#3  Management responsibility

Success requires the participation of all members of the project team. Management retains, within its responsibility for the quality, a related responsibility to provide suitable resources at adequate capacities.

#4 Mutually beneficial partnership with suppliers

As an organisation and; its suppliers are interdependent. Relationship-based on partnership and cooperation with the supplier are Moe beneficial to the organisation and to the suppliers than traditional supplier management.

The organisation should prefer long-term relationships over short-term goals.

A mutually beneficial relationship enhances the ability for both the organization and the suppliers to create value for each other, enhances their joint responses to customer needs and expectations, and optimizes cost and resources.
