In my previous articles, I have tried to look at some of the facts that you need to know about project quality management. In this article, I want to look at some of the tailoring considerations that you need to know when it comes to project quality management. Tailoring Considerations For Project Quality Management

#1 Policy compliance and auditing

When it comes to policy compliance and auditing, you need to ask: What quality and procedures exist in the organisation? What quality tools, techniques and templates are used in the organisation? This will assist in coming up with a proper quality template for the organisation.

#2 Standard and regulatory compliance

Are there any specific quality standards in the industry that needs to be applied when executing the project? Are there any specific governmental, legal, or regulatory constraints that need to be taken into consideration when planning the project?

#3 Continuous improvement

Are there any specific quality standards in the industry that need to be applied? Are there any specific governmental, legal, or regulatory constraints that need to be taken into consideration?

#4 Stakeholder register

You need to ask if there is a collaborative environment for stakeholders and suppliers?

Consideration for adaptive environments…

In order to navigate changes, agile methods call for frequent quality and review steps built-in throughout the project rather than towards the end of the project.

Recurring retrospective regulatory check on the effectiveness of the quality processes. They look for the root cause of issues than suggest trials of new approaches improve quality. Subsequent retrospective evaluates any trial processes to determine if they are working and should be continued or new adjusting should be dropped from use.

In order to facilitate frequent incremental delivery, agile methods focus on small batches of work, incorporating as many elements of project deliverables as possible. Small batch systems aim to uncover inconsistencies and quality issues earlier in the project life cycle when overall costs of change are lower.
