Recruitment at Ministry of Humanitarian Aid Workers 2024:  The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation is a Ministry in Nigeria saddled with the responsibility of developing and empowering youths, women, children and the vulnerable.

It also ensures It provides social protections systems that are humane, proactive, inclusive and sustainable for the growth and development of the people.

The ministry is currently recruiting temporary Humanitarian workers who can deliver welfare services to people in some states in Nigeria.

Job Duration

There has been delays in welfare service delivery to people and the Ministry wants a speedy way of reaching the affected people in the society. With this initiative in mind, the successful candidates will be hired for three (3) months and/or an extension for six (6) months to one (1) year.

Experienced applicants in humanitarian and conflict resolution who have a better chance of getting the employment.

The Ministry has showed their interest in supporting the successful candidates with the necessary things to aid their work and ensure poverty is alleviated and crisis tamed.

Job description:

The Humanitarian Aid Worker will provide humanitarian welfare services to people affected by the crisis. This includes providing relief materials, water, food, supplies, emergency shelters, conducting consultation/assessment, counseling, among others.

Requirements:

  1. Skills:

An applicant must possess the relevant skill to perform in this office. He/she must have skills in teamwork, coordination, counseling expert, quick decision-making skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  1. Experience:

The applicant must be conversant with conflict resolution, crisis management, and humanitarian emergency in dense crisis areas.

The Applicant must have a good managing and interpersonal skills in relief operations.

  1. Qualifications:

Again, the candidate must possess a degree in Humanitarian aid or equivalent. Additional certification in Disaster Management, Conflict Resolution, and First Aid Expert is an added advantage.

  1. Languages:

The Applicant must be fluent in English language and understand either Hausa, Yoruba or Igbo.

  1. Commitment:

The applicant must be hardworking and willing to work in willing to work in a challenging and volatile environment. Flexibility and adaptability are crucial qualities for success in this role.
